Structures of Service
Depending on the individual needs of a client, the structure of our sessions can change from week to week. In general, there are two different structures we can follow:
General/Dynamic
- Meet 1-4x per month
- Focus is largely determined during session
- Cover a broad range of topics and conversations
- Emphasis on collaborative reflection and goal setting
Short Term (<1 Month)
- Establish a relationship based on mutual trust and a shared mission
- Identify at least at least one meaningful goal that you are ready, willing, and able to work towards
- Create a list of activities related to your wellbeing that you can practice on your own
Mid Term (1-3 Months)
- Identify and organize several meaningful goals with different timeframes and levels of importance
- Determine what activities are related to your cognitive, physical, and emotional wellbeing
- Keep track of where and how you spend most of your energy
Long Term (3+ Months)
- Create a yearly/decade roadmap for your life to help you stay on track with your goals.
- Build awareness and balance in how you spend your time, energy, and attention.
- Improve your overall performance and make optimal experience part of your everyday life
Specific/Set
- Meet 1-3x per week
- Focus is largely determined prior to session
- Cover a narrow range of topics in-depth
- Emphasis on deliberate practice and performance feedback
Short Term (<1 Month)
- Establish a relationship based on mutual trust and a shared mission
- Identify a specific and important outcome that you are ready, willing, and able to work towards
- Create a structure of deliberate practice and measurable performance feedback that will support you as you work towards your goal
Mid Term (1-3 Months)
- Track progress towards your desired goal
- Continue to refine and practice associated behavioral activities
- Internalize mindful habits related to your desired outcomes
Long Term (3+ Months)
- Connect your efforts to other areas of life
- Leverage your successes to build a foundation on which to move forward
- Improve your overall performance and make optimal experience part of your everyday life
The General/Dynamic Model is ideal for clients who have a wide range of concerns or lack a specific area of focus.
The Specific/Set Model is ideal for clients with something very particular that they want to focus on together.
